Standard Warranty
Surface devices, Surface Pens, Surface power supplies and all in-box accessories are covered under the standard warranty of 1 year. The standard warranty covers defects in manufacturing and failures where there is normal use of the device according to the product use instructions.

Microsoft Extended Hardware Service (EHS)
While Surface devices come with a limited standard warranty, you may want to consider purchasing an extended warranty plan which extends hardware service coverage to 3 years through an Authorized Device Reseller (ADR). There is a 45 day grace period to purchase an extended warranty plan after your Surface purchase.
